Created in May 2008, Paper by Nature is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting environmentally friendly practices in the paper converting industry and the responsible use of paper amongst consumers. To this end, the Paper by Nature Association was designed as a forum to allow key actors to expound and discuss their expectations and demands with a clear objective in mind: to reach an agreement on a platform of environmental specifications that would lead to the definition of a pan-European environmental standard on converted paper products. This is how the Paper by Nature Eco-label was born.

Members
The Paper by Nature Association was initiated by key European actors from the paper industry including manufacturers of paper-based stationery products like pads, exercise and notebooks, envelopes. It aims at providing a framework for initiating and maintaining dialogue between different stakeholders; those from industry as well as from the non-profit sector.
